Need to get rid of recurring yeast infection

I have been having what I think is a recurring yeast infection for over 5 years. There is this whitish film on the outside of my vagina that when i scrape my finger nail against it, there is a whitish build up and I constantly have this whitish discharge that dries to a yellowish color. Also my vagina looks somewhat swollen and is darker pink in areas that seem irritated. My doctors have given me diflucan numerous times and have tried all the OTC creams and nothing seems to work. None of them seem to really have any significant advice or medication that will treat what I have. Most recently my doctor prescribed two doses of diflucan hoping that my infection would be cured, but alas, nothing has changed. I have become so frustrated that I do not know who to turn to. This has taken over my life and is all I think about. After reading the blog, I definitely believe that I have the symptoms of a SEVERE yeast infection that will not go away. I'm always itchy all over my body, recently it has been on my hands and heels of my feet especially. I definitely do crave sweets a lot, but I don't think that seems out of the ordinary, but I could be wrong. I'm only 19 years old and don't know the feeling of an itch free vagina. I would love some feedback and how I can get rid of this.

Sadly with the modern diets that many people are eating, having yeast infections like you describe at your age are not completely uncommon. Most people experience a yeast infection at least once in their life. Your yeast infection appears to be chronic.

You need to evaluate your diet, what you're eating, and see if that can help. If you're eating the same foods day in and day out, following the same routine, it's clearly not working.

I recommend you start with the candida-free meal plan and the candida diet detox and protocol. They both have everything that you need to get started on a good candida regimen. I find that most candida diets tend to be lacking and just do not work. They are far too lax, so if you're serious about getting better take a look at those two.
