Did my boyfriend catch a yeast infection fro me?

My boyfriend got a yeast infection in his groin area, and the doctor says it's because of me. The problem is I do not notice any vaginal symptoms, but I feel other symptoms outside my vagina. Such as itching all over my body, toenail fungus, bad breath, etc.

 

My boyfriend is currently taking antibiotics, and his doctor told me that I need to take the same medicine even though I do not have symptoms. This doesn't really seem right to me, what do you suggest?

While its more common for male to transfer infection to female there are cases where a male can get yeast infection through female partner and its mostly in the groin region. Based on the signs and symptoms you have listed it is clear that you have some sort of candida yeast overgrowth and I suggest you follow a candida diet and treatment program with your boyfriend for a while to get rid of the infection. Toenail fungus, itching and bad breath are common symptoms.

If your boyfriend is taking antibiotics then you may have to take it as well however just so you know antibiotics can actually worsen the situation. It will help at start but the yeast will come back with vengeance. Even CDC announced recently that the age of antibiotics is over and the leading cause of yeast infection is overuse of antibiotics.
So start a candida diet and make sure to incorporate probiotics in your diet as usual probacto is highly recommended.
